Wind Chimes To Enhance Feng Shui

A fresh approach to improving the curb appeal and livability of your home

Wind Chimes To Enhance Feng Shui

by Andrew James Laycock

I have found that many people have been asking me to recommend cures for lifting the energy in their home recently. I don’t know what it is about this time of the year but there appears to be quite a few people who are feeling a bit sluggish and down at the moment and would benefit from having the energy in their environment given a bit of a boost. When looking to lift the energy in the environment many people immediately think of crystals, which I have to say are excellent enhancers, but there are many other cures and enhancements that people can make and which can sometimes get forgotten. In this article, I look at the use of wind chimes as energy enhancers in Feng Shui and offer some tips as to how and where these can be used in the home.

Wind chimes are excellent yang energy enhancements as they provide both movement and sound. If you want to increase the energy in your home, in a specific area of your life or if you yourself are feeling down they can stimulate the energy around you. There are many different types available to buy and the important thing to remember when buying any Feng Shui enhancement for your home is that you like the item in question and the design appeals to you. Although the visual appeal is the most important consideration there are a few other things that you need to bear in mind, especially if you are buying and hanging a wind chime to increase the energy in a specific area of your life. These are size and shape, the material that it is made from and the noise that it makes.

Let us look at size and shape first. Wind chimes come in a variety of sizes and shapes. As a Feng Shui cure, it should always be comprised of 5 tubes suspended from a circular disc as each one of these tube represents one of the 5 elements, very important if you want to ensure that the energy in your home is positive and balanced. As well as ensuring that any wind chime you buy is made up of 5 tubes you also need to make sure that the size is appropriate for the space in which it is going to be hung. If it is to be placed in the garden then a large one should be bought, on the other hand if it is to be hung in a small hallway a smaller wind chime would be better. Although you want the wind chime to help stimulate the energy around you, it should not overpower the area in which it is to be hung.

Moving on to the material with which it is made from this is very important if you want to hang it in your home or garden to boost the energy in a specific area of your life. If you want to stimulate the energy in your finances or your family relationships then a wooden wind chime should be bought and placed in either the east, south east or southern sectors of your home. On the other hand metal wind chimes, probably the most commonly available, are best placed in the west and north west sectors as these help to promote energy in children or your helpful friends For love or to help you with your studies then a ceramic or stone wind chime should be used in the south west or north east sectors respectively and to boost your career then a glass or crystal one can be placed in the northern area of your home.

Finally, we come to the sound that a wind chime makes. Many people worry that a wind chime hung indoors will not have the desired effect as it does not make the same sound as one hung outdoors. This can easily be remedied by running your fingers across the tubes each time you pass. Indeed doing this often increases the beneficial effect of the enhancement as it helps you to focus your attention on the improvement that you want to see in your life.
