Coast Guard rescues man from 400-foot tower

NEW ORLEANS - The Coast Guard rescued a 44-year-old man from a 400-foot radio tower near Bogalusa, La. Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008.

Coast Guard Sector New Orleans recieved a call from the Louisiana State Police at 5:40 p.m. reporting a man working on a 400-foot radio tower was experiencing chest pains and needed to be lowered to an awaiting ambulance on the ground.

Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans launched an HH-65 Dolphin rescue helicopter crew at approximately 6 p.m.  The Dolphin crew arrived on scene at 7:45 p.m. and safely lowered the man to the awaiting ambulance.
