| | In this photo released by the U.S. Coast Guard, Lt. j.g. Dakata Brodie, an Air Station Houston pilot looks on as Brian Hill, a University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) cancer patient sits in an HH-65C rescue helicopter at Victory Camp, located in Alvin, Texas, Sept. 6, 2008.
Crewmembers from Air Station Houston participated in an MD Anderson Hummer Run event by conducting a fly-over. After the crew landed they provided a static display and invited participants to explore the inner workings of a Coast Guard Dolphin helicopter.
Forest Hill, the father of Brian Hill pictured above, and an Alvin, Texas, Police Officer participated in the MD Anderson Hummer Run event as well. The day consisted of Hummer rides for the children, as well as games and demonstrations at Victory Camp.
Shawn Gilcrease, coordinator of MD Anderson's Hummer Run, said the goal was to encourage the children to enjoy the day's events.
"These kids go through things in one day that we will never experience. They are the true heroes and for this one day they get to feel like a regular kid," said Gilcrease.
