Coast Guard searches for missing man

CORPUS Christi, Texas - The Coast Guard is conducting a search for a 19-year-old man who was reported missing off the Packery Channel jetties this evening.

A watchstander at Coast Guard Sector Corpus Christi received a call at 3:42 p.m. from the Corpus Christi Police Department, reporting that a group of four people were knocked off the southern jetty of Packery Channel by a wave.  Three people from the group were recovered by Good Samaritans and taken to EMS that were on scene. 

An HH-65C Dolphin helicopter from Air Station Corpus Christi was launched to search for the last person of the group. 

The Coast Guard plans to continue searching the area tomorrow morning.
