NEW ORLEANS - The Coast Guard medevaced a 25-year-old man from the Coast Guard Cutter Northland approximately 60-miles south of the Southwest Pass of the Mississippi River in the Gulf of Mexico Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008.

A watchstander at Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans received a call at 7:45 p.m.  from the District Eight Command Center, reporting that a crewmember had injured his head, passed out and was suffering from possible seizure convulsions.  

Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans launched a HH-65C Dolphin rescue helicopter and crew to the scene and safely transported the crewmember to Air Station New Orleans, where an ambulance was waiting. 

The crewmember arrived at the hospital conscious and in stable condition.
